Hi, I'm Rachel!
I first started sewing to make clothes for my barbies. I sewed off and on until I got engaged and wanted to sew favors for my wedding and then I kept sewing: always focusing on something that filled a need at the time. Now, it’s a part of my daily life with a primary focus on creating clothes for my family, but I also love being creative and sewing whatever I want without necessarily filling a "need.”
I currently live in Nebraska with my husband, our 4 children and fur baby, a GSD/Husky mix. However, I'd say I'm from the northern midwest United States: I was born and raised in Michigan, but Minnesota is "home”- it is where my heart is.
While I enjoy many hobbies, sewing is my primary one; followed closely by dyeing (especially fabric to sew), food preservation (primarily canning), and hiking/backpacking with my family.
