Havre & Aubert Swim Shoes (Goober Pea Designs)

Havre & Aubert Swim Shoes are fun swim shoes which are a great way to use up swim fabric scraps, and keep your feet protected during your summer activities! Havre are kids sized and Aubert are adult sized. Options include:

• Lined or unlined versions
• Unlined version uses elastic around the opening
• Lined version can be made with exposed seam or enclosed seam
• Adult sizes have two heel heights, regular and tall

PATTERN INFORMATION

Difficulty Level: Confident Beginner to Intermediate, depending on options. The elastic on the unlined version and the enclosed seam method of the lined version require more skill than the lined version with exposed seams. Full sew along video available here.

Recommended Fabric:

• The upper part of the shoe is designed for swim fabric, but it could also be made in quick dry athletic knits with at least 50% 4 way stretch. If you want to use them out of the water, they could also be made in other 4 way knits such as cotton lycra.
• The lined version can be lined with more of the main fabric, or with swim lining.
• The best fabric for the sole is Toughtek, but if that is not accessible to you, other options that work are plastic shelf liner, faux leather, real leather, etc.

• Fabric requirements chart - 1/4 yard up to size 11 child, or 1/2 yard for sizes 12-7 youth. A fat quarter is sufficient for all kids sizes except sizes 4-7 (in 45" width fabric) and all sizes in 60" width fabric. A 12" by 12" square is sufficient for the soles in all sizes. 1/2 yard up to size W12/M11 (in 45" or 60" width fabric). A 12" by 12" square is sufficient for most sizes
